- varful de centrare are forma conica autofiletanta care prin rotire avanseaza singur in lemn si faciliteaza centrarea gaurii
- burghiul este de tip autoforant - avanseaza singur in material astfel frecarea este redusa in timpul gauririi
- datorita faptului ca forta de patrundere este usurata de forma burghiului, patrunderea acestuia nu necesita viteza mare de rotatie si nici nu se confrunta cu rezistenta mare a lemnului, creste durata de viata a burghiului, dar si a masinii de gaurit
- este potrivit pentru orice tip de lemn, dur sau moale si chiar bun pentru a fi utiliza in lemn umed
- burghiul elicoidal este prevazut cu prindere hexagonala pentru o fixare ferma in bacurile mandrinei.
