Fabricarea panourilor Termofix se bazeaza pe expansiunea fizica (expandarea) granulelor de polistiren expandabil sub actiunea unui agent de expandare (pentanul) in prezenta aburului si a temperaturii. Presiunea, temperatura aburului si timpul de mentinere sunt parametrii procesului de expandare controlati permanent. Obtinerea panourilor de polistiren expandat ignifugat se realizeaza in mai multe etape: preexpandarea, maturarea, formarea blocurilor si maturarea lor, taierea blocurilor, ambalarea
